The Sensory Space »» The Sensory Basin
|
The sensory basin is a concept, an aquatic course, it is the recreational sensory experience par excellence. It is not meant for swimming and its depth varies from 1 m and 1.35 m. The course of the sensory basin is composed of several theme zones. These zones can be shared out in several small basins forming a harmonious whole or integrated in a unique basin.
Because of its numerous shapes, animations, atmospheres and temperatures, the sensory basin always offers the designers a pure moment of creation. Whether you choose to combine temperatures and animations inside a single basin or the concept of small theme basins with personal atmospheres, the possibilities are infinite. A basin is one of a kind.

 |
- The different animations : relaxing, massaging, draining and invigorating effect.
- The different temperatures : from 10°C to 40°C, benefits at all temperatures, even the benefit of thermal shock.
- The different atmospheres : Chromatherapy, Aquamusic, Aromatherapy.
- The different themes... and all the sensations water can offer, total well being. The best sellers of theme basins.
- The technical requirements of the sensory basin : a profession.

The different animations. The sensory basin is a concentrate of animations : water cannons and their numerous jets (small bell, carp tail, vertical), waterfalls and water blades, hydro massage pipes with multiple intensities (geysers, swimming against the current), and the whirlpool plates and air cushions for plenty of bubbles and instantaneous effervescence.
Beyond physical beauty, fascination and the recreational effect of these water animations with fine lines, most of all it is as professionals that we insist on the benefits of the massages. The shape and intensity of the jets have been designed to bring a maximum of well being to the users, on precise points.
Every animation targets special spots of the body : the jet massage for the neck, back and chest, all the waterfalls for a spotted massage on the back, lumbar vertebrae, thighs, calves, ankles and the air and water injections for the foot soles.
|
- Tonic massage to increase muscular tonus and firm up the skin.
- Draining massage to stimulate metabolism, immunological defences, lymphatic and blood circulation.
- Relaxing massage to calm down and relieve fatigue and pains, reduce stress and relax.

|
The different temperatures. The effect of water on the body varies mainly because of the temperature. In the sensory basin the temperature is between 10°C and 40°C. The benefits and importance of different water temperatures on the body are recognized.
The cold bath is used for its tonic and detoxifying properties, it provokes vasoconstriction, increases the activity of the skin, improves the oxygenation of the tissues, rises the blood pressure, stimulates the nervous system, fortifies the action of the heart, contracts the muscles, stimulates the metabolism, slows down the breathing and increases its amplitude. It usually follows a warming up of the body in a hotter atmosphere, sauna, hammam, or simply a hot bath. It is very short, a simple immersion is enough, and it is the thermal shock's effect that is looked for.

 |
The hot bath is useful for its relaxing effects, its calms down all the body and it is a remarkable tool for relaxing and unwinding. It is recommended for numerous chronic affections like rheumatism and arthritis, high blood pressure, heart weakness, bad circulation, insomnia and for exhausted people. The hot bath increases the body temperature, the activity of the skin, the antibodies, decreases the blood pressure and the viscosity of blood.
The use of hot/cold induces a pump effect that stimulates the general circulation and cleans the toxins out of the system.
The different atmospheres. In the heart of the sensory space, the environment of the aquatic course is extremely important. The decoration, the choice of materials, the contribution of light, colours, sounds, fragrances, everything helps creating an atmosphere where all the senses are stimulated.
If water effervescence and the animations make an encounter, the creation of atmospheres around this space is an emotion. It is subtle and varies with our senses in an unforgettable experience.
- The stagecraft through colour, with the benefits of chromatherapy for the body and the soul.
- The stagecraft through music with the extraordinary richness of sounds and their “massaging” and soothing effects.
- The stagecraft through perfume, with the magic of fragrances and the succession of images and emotions created.
The different themes. Among the theme zones and baths of the sensory basin, here are the most popular, the most asked for and the most effective :
- The Vivaldi basin represents all the sensations water can offer. It can be compared to the petals of a flower, each one having an atmosphere of its own, a temperature, a colour, a music, each one having a specific animation depending on the scenery. From a basin to the other, from an atmosphere to the other, this complete sensory course is a journey through the four seasons.
- The Mediterranean basin at 30° which allows more tonic animations thanks to its temperature.
- The Indian Ocean basin at 34° favours relaxation.
- The Dead Sea basin at 40° : its high salinity and density provoke a floating effect with numerous benefits from relaxation to the treatment of affections such as eczema, psoriasis, joint pains and rheumatism, thinning down and a reduction of the orange skin effect thanks to the minerals it contains.
The different zones. In the hot basins, some activity zones can be developed with a coach or by adding simple elements, to increase the users' well being.
- Wellness zone with the Hydronox whirlpool bed, where the customer, lying down or half seated, can relax, rocked and caressed, by thousands of air bubbles that envelop his whole body.
- Anti stress zone : the bubbles bursting from everywhere bring the body to float; it can be equipped with benches. Usually located near a tonic zone to offer a relaxing moment after a massage.
- Form zone for a full body hydro massage, surrounded by many massaging jets, pipes out of alignment, sequential massage stations and specific pipes for foot sole.
- Tonic zone with high flow geysers, swan necks, cascade fountains, animations with very stimulating action.
- Fitness zone to swim against the current, practise Aqua bike or aqua gym depending on the surface.
- Watsu zone with underwater massage in a hot basin, a Zen atmosphere that respects a gestural and spiritual philosophy.
